Leena Halees
is an award-winning Palestinian writer, spoken word poet, human rights advocate, and community organizer. She is the founder and executive director of We Liberate the World. Through her art and organizing, Leena bridges the poetic and the political, exploring how personal voice becomes a site of return, resistance, and reawakening.
She was the second-place winner of the 2024 Room Magazine Poetry Contest, judged by Rafeef Ziadah, and her work has appeared in Soul in Space Magazine and Muchacha Fanzine. She is currently developing her debut poetry collection, a lyrical meditation on exile, embodied life, and radical imagination.
